Andrea did the meme thing with me. So, without further ado, here it is!
.Books allow you to meet people that time, distance and/or opportunity would never have allowed you to meet.
.Except textbooks, reading does not put me to sleep. Reading a good novel or non fiction work is more likely to keep me awake even if I put the book down.
.Andrea and I often sit and read together. It’s an opportunity to enjoy one another’s company while doing our own ‘thing’. Sometimes after we have done that, we think that the other one read the book, too.
.My favorite books used to be science fiction and fantasy. Now I’m more likely to pick up non-ficton.
.I’m currently reading Pride and Prejudice and Pilgrim’s Progress.
.I like old books.
.The Chronicles of Narnia were the series that turned me into an avid reader.
.I started writing a book about 4 months ago. If I had more time, I’d likely be finished by now.
.Even though I’m a computer geek, I don’t care for eBooks. (Nor do I jump on every other gizzmo that comes out.)
.I’ve had more than one offer to write textbooks. You would think with the number of textbooks / reference books on every imaginable computer topic that there would not be a market for this.
.Most nights I read Emma 3 books. Sometimes, if she has selected short ones, I agree to read a fourth.
.The only room in out house which does not normally have books in it is the laundry room.
.I still have some of my college textbooks from the late 1980s.
.With the exception of specialized sets, we do not have any paper encyclopedias in the house.
.Long paragraphs suck. If a paragraph is long I rarely read it all. Actually, what really happens is I do read it and process it, but while one part of my mind is doing that, the rest wanders off on a tangent. I rarely remember the last half of a long paragraph.
