Today, Emma was looking for more pennies for her piggy bank. She also wanted “the shiney ones”. I went over the names of other coins, to tell her what they are, and I told her how many cents each one stood for. “This is a quarter,” I showed her, “Remember what it is for?” Emma told me it is for those machines at the mall that you get stuff from. “And” she added, “If you have four quarters, you have a WHOLE DOLLAR!”
