It’s been 5 weeks since I posted anything of any length. It’s safe to say I haven’t been idle. There is lots going on. For this week, I’m just going to tell you about 2 of them. Hopefully, next week we will have sorted out another thing and I’ll be able to fill you in on that as well.
If you read Andrea’s blog you may recall that 5 weeks ago she told you about her trip to the hospital and 3 weeks ago I went home in the middle of the week to do a whirl wind tour of the province. We went to see an oncologist. Next Friday she has more surgery. And, for a while after that she will be recuperating again. I’m going to leave it for her to fill you in on the rest. It has been a challenging winter. As you might guess, I’ve been thinking about life’s challenges and may get to sharing some of those in the next week or two.
Quite a while ago, I mentioned that we would be moving Homeschool Journal. We purchased dedicated space this month and both Andrea & I are working away at a list of items that need to be done in anticipation of that move. The move has been prolonged substantially due to the obvious priority of Andrea’s health and recuperation. For the next while, I will be taking care of domestic things on the weekends and working on the new HSJ at nights here. So, I expect that posting will continue to be minimal here. HSJ is now more than a year old. In the last year, we have received a number of donations which have more than covered the cost of the hosting. We have enough left over to cover a couple months on the new server. We are hoping to be able to grow HSJ to 1000 active blogs on the new server. We have things that we are planning for down the road which will support the site. In the mean time, if you are so inclined and you have a few dollars to spare, we would appreciate a donation toward the server which is quite a bit more expense.
Just wanted you to know that I’ve had your family in my prayers for the last few months – and will keep it up.
Sorry to hear that things are not quite resolved medically and that that puts the move off. It must be hard. My thoughts are with you all.
I am so far behind on reading posts, I didn’t even know about Andrea’s medical problems. I am so sorry you guys are having to face this. I will keep both of you in all my prayers. Oh … and I’ll be back next month (after payday! to make a modest donation to HSJ). It’s the least I can do after all the work you have put into it! It’s an amazing community.
